BY ANN BABINGTON, DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
St. Peter’s is so fortunate to have 50 campers, ages 4 to 10, coming to our annual Vacation Bible School, next week, June 5-9. The children will be building their faith, making new friends, learning wonderful Christian songs, and having an amazing time. Water Discovery Christian Adventure is our theme, and our VBS Team is developing and creating this curriculum independently. Our campers will be diving into God’s presence as they learn about the wonderful Bible stories of Moses parting the Red Sea, Jonah and the Whale, the Baptism of Jesus, Jesus’ Miracles, and Peter walking on water. The children will also be rotating through terrific specialists who will be teaching music, art, science, and games, and 15 St. Peter’s Youth Leaders will be guiding the campers from class to class in small groups. In addition to that busy schedule, we will have special guests each day that include Alice the Thinking Dog, a professional watercolor artist, a balloon artist, an intern from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, animals from the St. Louis Zoo, a paper folding artist, and a face painter. Some surprises this summer will include a Patriotic M& M Estimation Jar, skits performed by the Youth Leaders, and the Porthole Challenge, which will encourage children to memorize some favorite Bible Verses. Be sure to keep us in your prayers all next week!
