BY DAVID SINDEN, DIRECTOR OF MUSIC
The series of Choral Evensong services at St. Peter’s on the second Sunday of the month continues Sunday, February 12 at 5:30 p.m.
Choral Evensong is a service of scripture, prayer, and music in the evening that has been offered in the Anglican church for centuries. St. Peter’s enjoys a tradition of offering this service regularly for more than a quarter century.
You might have noticed that officially the most recent Choral Evensong was held in November since the intervening second Sunday choral services took the form of Lessons and Carols for Advent (in December) and Epiphany (January).
On Sunday, February 5 the St. Peter’s Choir joins with the Choir of St. Michael and St. George to sing Choral Evensong at 5:00 p.m. This service will be held at St. Michael’s (6345 Wydown Blvd).
The Choral Evensong service at St. Peter’s on Sunday, February 12 at 5:30 p.m. will include music of English composer Henry Purcell (1659–1695).
