We would like to welcome all St. Peter’s parishioners to a Sunday School Open House on All Saints Sunday, November 1, following the 10:30 service, in the Sunday School classrooms. Come tour the classrooms to learn more about the curriculum and the activities in which our children engage each Sunday. The teachers will be in their classrooms ready to help you learn more about the broad scope of the curriculum offered at St. Peter’s, and there will be home baked cookies for all and small gifts for all the children.
Children up through the Fifth Grade spend the first half of the year studying the Old Testament, then Advent and Christmas lessons, New Testament in the Winter, and Holy Week and Easter lessons in the Spring. In the Nursery, birth to age four, the children are engaged with fun lessons from the Spark House curriculum; K/1 and 2/3 use the Holy Moly curriculum from Augsburg Fortress Press which is filled with interesting and fun opportunities for the children; Fourth and Fifth Grades use the Connect Curriculum also from Augsburg Press and Fourth Grade students receive their own Connect Bible at the beginning of the year; Sixth and Seventh Grades use the Re:Form curriculum from Spark House Publishers, and a more casual setting for that grade level is designed to promote deeper conversations and theological discussions. We will look forward to seeing you at the Open House on November 1st.
