THE REV. IAN LASCH, ASSOCIATE RECTOR FOR FORMATION AND FELLOWSHIP
ANN BABINGTON, DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
This Sunday, September 11 is a big Sunday for several reasons. First, the St. Peter’s Choir returns to full force. We welcome them back with open arms and are grateful for what they add to our worship.
Second, following both worship services, we will be holding the third annual St. Peter’s Ministry Fair. Join us in the Undercroft after worship to discover all of the different ministries that St. Peter’s is involved in, and be sure to volunteer for any ministry that speaks to you.
The Sunday School rooms are ready, the marvelous teachers are waiting, and the curriculum is filled with Bible stories that are designed to capture the children’s imagination and help them grow in their faith. The 2016-17 Sunday School year for students in Kindergarten through Seventh Grade begins on Sunday, September 11th, at 10:30 am. Volunteers will be on hand to walk your child to their Sunday School classroom and introduce them to their new teachers. After class the children will be escorted up to church for the latter half of the service. Also during the service on September 11th, our church will be honoring and commissioning all of the Sunday School Teachers and assistants. We are so very grateful to them for their many hours of service in this important ministry of working with the children at St. Peter’s. Also during this service we will be presenting the students in Fourth Grade with their own personalized Connect Bible. Nursery care and a Sunday morning curriculum for children ages birth through age four is available each Sunday in the Little Building starting at 9:00 am.
On Sunday, September 4th, Labor Day Weekend, children ages five and older should go to church with their parents, and the Little Building Nursery will be available for children birth through age four starting at 9 am. We are looking forward to this exciting year of growth with your children and to the opportunity to provide them with an ever-deepening relationship with God!
