The Anglican Communion: What is the Anglican Communion and Why Does it Matter?
Father John Kilgore will lead the Rector’s Forum May 21 and May 28 on the Anglican Communion and its significance. The Anglican Communion is comprised of over 950 dioceses in 165 countries with 85 million members, and is characterized by a commonality yet individuality that makes us unique. Bound together by Thomas Cranmer’s founding words in the Book of Common Prayer with worship in the ‘vernacular’ (the local language) we are a gathering of very diverse Christians around the world who share common bonds. Attend the sessions and learn what binds us together, what gives us our individuality, and why all of this matters.
