Music at St. Peter’s
Music has long been central to the joys of worshiping at St. Peter’s Church. Our choir provides an important role in the liturgy on Sundays and special services, by leading our congregation in song, choral anthems, psalms, and responses.
The music ministry of St. Peter’s provides an opportunity for youth and adults to become involved in the life of our parish through music. Our program includes the Adult Choir, Youth Choristers, a Handbell choir, and the St. Peter’s Singers.
Besides providing music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service, the choir offers special musical performances with instrumentalists during Advent and Lent and at monthly concerts and services of Choral Evensong. Members of the choir also sing at weddings and funerals on occasion.
The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:15-9:15 p.m. and on Sundays before the 10:30 a.m. service. We welcome parishioners with advanced choral skills to sing alongside our highly trained section leaders. If you are interested in more information, please contact music director David Sinden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The S. William Aitken Endowment Fund
The S. William Aitken Endowment Fund has been established to ensure a vibrant future for the music ministry at St. Peter’s. Music is one of our great offerings of praise and thanksgiving to God and is essential to worship. Under Bill’s leadership, St. Peter’s has become known for the quality of our music program, and we are committed to building on this strong foundation.
To date, we have 114 families that have committed over $160,000 to support this fund! If you would like to ensure an enduring legacy of fine music by contributing to this fund, please contact the Church Office at 314-993-2306, or donate online by clicking here.
