Guest Preacher This Sunday
WELCOME THIS SUNDAY’S GUEST PREACHER!
The Reverend Amy Bertschausen, Executive Director of Care and Counseling, will preach at both services this Sunday. The mission of Care and Counseling, an interfaith non-profit operating in St. Louis since 1968, is to enhance emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being through counseling, professional training and community education. With financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, organizations and faith communities, counseling services are available to those who would otherwise be unable to afford the full cost of psychotherapy.
Amy is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), having received a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School. Prior to coming to Care and Counseling in 2014, Amy served as Executive Director of a similar organization, Samaritan Center of the Fox Valley, in Wisconsin. She has also served as a board-certified healthcare chaplain and a clergy member in congregations in Wisconsin and Indiana. Amy’s Facebook page attests that, since moving to St. Louis, she and her husband, Roger, have fully embraced Cardinals baseball!
With recent news reports about an epidemic of loneliness and an increase in the suicide rates in our country, there could not be a better time to hear to Amy preach God’s Word on healing and mental health. Come and welcome her on Sunday!
