Youth Ministry

Building a Community in Christ

St. Peter’s strives to create a youth inclusive atmosphere at the church, building opportunities that foster fellowship, leadership, faith, and service. Youth participation in the service is highly encouraged through reading, ushering, acolyting, or assisting with Sunday School. As our youth program continues to develop, we work to create events that will grow this spiritual community in and out of the church.

St. Peter’s Youth Council

The St. Peter’s Youth Council (SPYC), a leadership committee comprised of youth in grades 6-12, launched in May 2016. During SPYC’s first year, 11 extremely qualified youth (spanning almost every grade level and representing 7 area schools) helped to better St. Peter’s and the community in a variety of ways. From creating a cross-generational “Buddy System” for teenagers and Sunday School children, to organizing and executing a winter clothing drive, to planning fun lock-ins at the church, these youth are making their voices heard!

Youth who will be in grades 6-12 for the 2017-18 school year are invited to apply to be a part of the St. Peter’s Youth Council. Applications are due May 12th.
