Junior and Senior High Youth

2017 Youth Mission Trip and Stay Recap

This summer was filled with exciting events for our junior and senior high youth! From June 10th-17th, nine of our senior high youth traveled to Washington, DC for their summer mission trip. They spent the week working with Youth Service Opportunities Project, which pairs young people with organizations serving those experience homelessness and food insecurity. Throughout their time, they were able to serve and pack meals, interact with people from a variety of backgrounds, and learn a great deal about homelessness and what we can do to help! We got to see some pretty neat museums and memorials, too!

Then, back in St. Louis, five of the junior high youth had their Mission Stay from June 20th-23rd! The week was spent working with many of our outreach partners, including The Haven of Grace and Beyond Housing! Each day closed with a fun activity around St. Louis. These 6th and 7th graders picked up trash, weeded and mulched a community, baked cookies, organized garages and closets, and made cards for our friends at the Gatesworth!

Thank you to all those who made these weeks possible, especially our stellar chaperones: Annie, Drew, and Cady! Our youth truly loved their neighbors and demonstrated Christ’s love in the world!

Senior High Trip: Houston, TX; June 9-16, 2018 (rising 9th graders-graduated seniors)

In late summer we watched from afar as Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc in Texas. The largest rainstorm in US History caused massive flooding and displaced thousands from their homes. The youth of St. Peter’s were moved by such suffering in the wake of natural disaster. In response, they are journeying to the Houston Area this upcoming summer to help with the recovery process. Through the trusted youth-missions provider YouthWorks, St. Peter’s Youth will be joining hands with other churches’ high schoolers, college students, and adults to help rebuild the Houston Area. Rising 9th graders through graduated seniors will depart June 9 and return on June 16. An initial deposit of $115 is due on November 2nd. After this date, spots are not guaranteed. Please contact Maria Maguire at mmaguire@stpetersepiscopal.org with any questions or to sign up!
