Vestry Nomination Process Underway

In preparation for the January 14, 2018 Annual Parish Meeting, the Nominating Committee for the Vestry has been formed to seek candidates to fill the positions of those vestry members whose terms of service expire this year.  The committee is made up of those members retiring from the Vestry (John Bradley, Annie Schlafly, Kelly Sullivan, Peter van Cleve, and Cathie Willie), the past Senior Warden (Chris Knight) and the current Senior Warden (Laurie Haffenreffer).  The committee will recommend candidates to the Vestry at the December Vestry meeting. Once approved by the Vestry, a preferred ballot of nominees will be published in the service bulletin the two weeks prior to the annual meeting.

The Nominating Committee will be reaching out to members of the parish that they believe will help meet the current needs of the Vestry to efficiently carry out the business of the Church and helping the Rector bring to life the vision and mission of the Church.  In particular, the committee seeks to identify members of the congregation that:

  • Actively participate in Sunday worship
  • Actively participate in parish life and the mission of the Church
  • Make an annual pledge commitment to St. Peter’s Church

Any member of the Nominating Committee will be happy to receive names of potential nominees to the Vestry from the congregation at large. Please feel free to speak, call or write to us regarding either nominees or any questions regarding the process itself.

Finally, I want to thank the 5 retiring members of the Vestry for their dedicated and faithful service to St Peter’s. They have all assisted our clergy and St. Peter’s as a whole during one of our greatest periods of growth in members, staff and programs.
